The web design course covers two parts: Graphic illustration, and Web tools & design.
The program adopts step-by-step approach. The Graphic illustration introduces simple and easy to understand methodology, provides basic skills to work with application software. Based on initial knowledge, student will be able to follow more complex graphic design software, the Photo Shop 5.5.The Photo Shop enables designer to manipulate image with special effects and tools, creating more sophisticated web graph. The Web tools & design involve fundamentals like HTML & Java Script, combining the most popular design software, i.e. the Dream Weaver 3.0 and, the Flash 4.0, to integrate objects, images, and animation simultaneously, ultimately they enhance the overall web page presentation.

Graphic Illustration

Adobe Illustrator 8.0 

Students will be taught graphic illustration using various tools and concepts in illustrator to design creative layouts.  

  • Introduction to Illustrator.  

  • Art-board, dropdown menus, toolbox and palettes.

  • Create, open, save and printing files.

  • Drawing, creating and editing an object.

  • Select, move, duplicate and grouping objects.

  • Fill, stroke and gradient.

  • Pen and brush tools.

  • Creating text and outlines.

  • Combining paths and masking objects.

Adobe Photoshop 5.5

Students will be introduced to digital imaging, using its tools, concepts, special effects to manipulate images and designing digital layouts.

  • Vector vs. Raster.

  • Understanding the dropdown menus, toolbox and palettes.

  • Opening, saving, editing and printing an image.

  • Painting, coloring and editing.

  • Selections and paths.

  • Layers and transformations.

  • Masks and channels.

  • Retouching, repeating and restoring.

  • Amazing text stuffs.

  • Filters and special effects.

Web Tools & Design

HTML  

This course will introduce students to basic HTML coding and applications to web programming and design. Ultimately, students will be able to create and view simple web pages on the internet. 

  • Introduction to web page and html coding.

  • Creating a start up page.

  • Page and paragraphs breaks.

  • Creating and editing texts.

  • Linking a page.

  • Changing background, text and link color.

  • Inserting and linking images.

  • Basic tables.

  • Introduction to frames.

  • Image maps.

  • Creating forms.

JAVA SCRIPT 

Java language is great emphasis on object-oriented programming. Designers learn to write Java applets and integrate them into web sites.

DREAMWEAVER 3.0 

Students will learn DREAMWEAVER * ?s flexible tools and applications to create and design their own page layouts and ultimately a web site to be placed onto the web.

  • Objects, properties and launcher palettes.

  • Editing html source.

  • Adding and editing texts, paragraphs, images and layouts.

  • Creating html styles.

  • Links and URLs.

  • Creating tables and frames.

  • Forms and style sheets.

  • Layers and positioning.

  • Behaviour modification.

  • Drawing timelines.

  • Site testing.

FLASH 4.0

This popular software program is designed to let students and its users to create interactive web content and movies that will definitely enhance one's web experience! 

  • Introduction to flash.

  • About flash menus, toolbar and timeline.

  • Creating and modifying objects.

  • Symbols and instances.
